Anna (she/her)

About Anna (artbythorod)

Anna is a queer illustrator whose creative journey began with a sense of wonder. While focusing on traditional portraiture as a teen, she admired the world of digital fanart from afar, asking herself, “How do they do that?” In 2020, she finally picked up a tablet and taught herself, channeling years of passion into every brushstroke. Today, she brings that same energy and curiosity to her work—whether she’s sketching spontaneous personal pieces or carefully crafting portraits for commissions. Anna is especially drawn to storytelling through a queer lens, celebrating love, identity, and emotional connection in all their forms. For her, art isn’t just something to look at—it’s something to feel.

Her work

Anna’s illustrations are rich with softness, longing, and quiet joy—often centering sapphic couples and the emotional depth of their relationships. A longtime fan of The Wheel of Time, Anna creates fanart that reimagines beloved couple Siuan and Moiraine with the tenderness they deserve. Through her work, she brings visibility to queer love not only as something to be seen, but something to be lived. Whether she’s reclaiming gentle moments for star-crossed lovers or drawing someone’s original character with care and reverence, Anna’s goal remains the same: to make people feel seen, understood, and a little more hopeful.
